Wild Wales

Wild places require management in order to meet the demands of modern society and to fit within their historical context.
Sustainable Forest Management has surveyed areas of Wales with the potential for wilderness restoration and drawn up plans for phasing transformation of plantations to wildwoods.

SFM collaborates with the Vincent Wildlife Trust to survey minority species and is undertaking habitat restoration and conservation programmes. SFM is re-wilding a 54 hectare conifer clearfell site using natural regeneration and direct seeding with local provenance material.
